About Dr. Gonzalez
I earned my doctorate in clinical psychology through the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University. I am licensed as a psychologist in California and Wyoming. I have over seven years of experience working in urban and rural environments, outpatient and inpatient clinics, a VA Medical Center, and other multidisciplinary settings. This has helped me understand how to conceptualize mental health concerns within the biopsychosocial model.
I specialize in treating trauma concerns, including PTSD, complicated grief, relationship concerns, as well as older adults facing issues later in life. While practicing a person-centered approach, my aim is to establish an environment of safety in which you can be vulnerable and explore your difficult personal experiences. I draw upon a variety of modalities, including Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavioral therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and other mindfulness-based approaches. As a team, we will create treatment goals and figure out what will work best to address you’re concerns. To reap the most benefit from our work together, you must be willing to explore painful emotions and experiences, while applying effective and adaptive coping strategies.
